The Effects of Improving Muscle Activity of Affected Lower Limb on Control of Balance for Patient with Hemiplegia
Abstract
Background and Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of improving muscle activity of affected lower limb on balance control for patients with hemiplegia. Subjects and Methods: The subject of this study was an adult with right hemiplegia who has been treated in Ilsan Sarang hospital. Time up & go test, and functional reach test were used for the evaluation. The subject had 24 times of 30 minutes-treatment session in two weeks. Results: The results of this study showed that the time up & go test was decreased 25.21 second, and functional reach test was increased 16.2 cm. Conclusions: Muscle activities of lower limb is very close related with control of balance of the patients with hemiplegia.
